Muddy Puppy

A summer day, glorious mud and happy dogs: what could sound better?

This is the second time the hooligans participated in One Plan’s Muddy Puppy and it was even better than the last time!

What’s really nice is that any and all dogs are allowed. There is a strict keep-your-dog-on-leash policy (that some very annoying people don’t stick to) so that you are in control of your dog and there aren’t any arguments. Even if your dog is a bit temperamental with other dogs running up to them (like Bailey is) and getting in their face, 95% of the time this doesn’t happen.

It’s a short 2.1km track that you can repeat as many times as you like, consisting of a dip in the dam, small agility obstacles, mud pits and jumping castles with bubbles. This time, they even added in a bit of a Colour Run part which the humans loved (I mean who doesn’t want their white dog being blue for a day?).

The best part is each dog gets a medal and a treat at the end! And for the humans, there’s a R30 dog wash station so your cars can still stay relatively clean. You also get very tired pups who will undoubtedly snooze for the rest of the day (in the photo below, Beanie was very cross that she had to pose before having a nap).

As I said before, this wasn’t our first time and it definitely won’t be our last!
